Seattle Premium Pay Ordinance

The City of Seattle’s Premium Pay for Gig Workers Ordinance established “premium pay” during the COVID-19 pandemic for gig workers in Seattle.

You have been provided with a breakdown of your premium pay qualifying gigs and the amount of premium pay earned per gig via email. Your premium pay will be available in your Roadie account. If your account is eligible, you may cash out your Premium Payments through Instant Pay (fee applies) or receive a deposit to the checking account linked to your Roadie account.

The ordinance was in effect between June 26, 2020, and October 31, 2022. All premium pay qualifying gigs have been processed. Because Roadie is distributing drivers’ accrued premium pay after the premium payment was first due, pursuant to the ordinance, all premium payments also include 12% interest.

Notice of Rights

You have a right to receive premium pay of $2.50 for each delivery that begins or ends in the City of Seattle plus $1.25 for each additional delivery made in Seattle during the same trip.
