I have signed up with Roadie, but have not seen a job opportunity yet. 1 Karla Atherton August 22, 2015 19:58 Live in San Diego CA, and only gig I find is one to take end tables from San Diego to San Francisco for $62 dlls., am I not searching correctly? 0 Matt F August 24, 2015 19:44 Hey Karla - sounds like you're searching properly. You can zoom out farther on the map using standard "pinching" to see if any Gigs exist within a wider radius. The most important point is that Gigs are removed from the map as soon as they're double-accepted, so make sure you're checking as frequently as you can. Thanks! 0 Surma Adorno-Glenn December 06, 2016 22:59 At the end of the year would driver receive 1099 or W2 for tax purposes? 0 Matt F December 07, 2016 14:05 @surma - At the end of the year, Roadie will provide Drivers with a list of the miles driven on our platform if our Senders have paid you more than $600 in the given year. 0 Surma Adorno-Glenn December 07, 2016 14:20 Ok thanks. Maybe I didn't phrase that correctly, as a driver I receive income from Roadie and as a company you report that income to IRS. Will I be responsible for paying (Federal, State and Local) taxes myself ? 0 Matt F December 07, 2016 21:40 @surma - Yes, you'll be responsible for paying your own taxes. And we provide the summary of miles driven to help with that. You can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any more specific questions. 0 Matt Hoyle July 15, 2020 17:47 Hello, I'm in western North Carolina. I just signed up with Roadie and was wondering if there's any record of gigs in my area? Be sure to set your notifications and check the map in the app. If you have specific questions, work through email@example.com. Thank you, Matt. 0 ERIKA PINEROS ORTIZ August 04, 2020 01:43 Hi I have signed, I'm from Reading Pa, and the only gig is for atlanta airport, what can I do? 0 Matt F August 04, 2020 13:24 @Erika - we deliver for a bunch of customers in the Reading area. If you're seeing the Atlanta area on your map, try tapping the arrow in the bottom-right of the map to take you to your local location. Thanks and welcome aboard! 0 Randy Poole November 18, 2020 01:46 I would like to drive some long distance trips but in the last month all of the trips I have seen are pick up immediately and it would take me 6 or 7 hours to reach the pick up point I am worried that as pull in to pick up items the gig will be gone or is there some other way to go about this endeavor? 1 Matt F November 18, 2020 22:51 @Randy - we definitely have more short-distance, same-day Gigs on the platform compared to the long-distance variety. For the long-distance ones, if you submit an offer that gets accepted, you should definitely reach out to the Sender to coordinate all of the details and timing of the pickup and delivery, that way you can be certain about your plans and what the Sender needs. Hope this helps! 1 Tyler Dally December 29, 2020 20:03 Will a roadie gig ever cross state lines? I drive long distance trips from Michigan to Wyoming for example. I'd be willing to take a gig that went from Michigan to Nebraska, since it's on the way. Are Roadie users even allowed to send items from state to state? 0 Quannitra Brown January 12, 2021 00:16 I live in Charlotte and for some reason there’s not any gigs coming up here and i was trying to figure out why ? 0 Tosha Lynch January 21, 2021 04:21 Is Roadie available in Michigan City Indiana? 0 beaston7272 April 27, 2021 14:35 I've been driving for roadie just a bit over part time but not full time since November 2020. My total earnings are over $2400 so far. I've been working about 4 full days a week for about 5 weeks now and have been averaging over $350-400+ a week in normal gig work + extra tips. I'm in Montgomery, AL and there are actually more walmart gigs than drivers here. But anyways, Roadie is definitely legit and if they are contracted with the walmart(s) in your area, there's no reason for you not to see gigs pop up in the app. I stay more than busy, but the trick is to get the gig posting schedule down pat. I know here they post walmart gigs in about a set 5 minute window every hour for normal walmart grocery deliveries. And that's not counting the express deliveries which pop up as they come in. Good luck!!! I almost forgot one important piece of information - KEEP THE APP OPEN AND VISIBLE when you are working. DO NOT RELY on the notifications to come in. By the time the new gig posted notification is sent out to everyone's phone, there's drivers that have already beat you to it and you'll be far down the line and more than likely won't get that specific gig. Don't quote me on this, but from my experience the system goes by first come first serve, but in addition it also assigns it to both the driver that submitted the offer first AND is the closest to the pickup location.
