How does Gig sizing work and how much is too much for a single Gig?

Roadie uses a straightforward size classification system ranging from Small to Huge.
  • Small: Fits in a shoebox
  • Medium: Fits in the front seat of a car
  • Large: Fits in the backseat of a car
  • X-Large: Fits in a SUV or hatchback
  • Huge: Fits in a pickup truck

It's important to remember that Drivers aren't movers, so if you're sending heavy or oversized items, make sure to have someone at pickup and drop off to help load and unload your items. While most Drivers can take a number of items — like a dresser, lamp, three boxes, and a headboard — as a Huge Gig, Senders cannot include an entire bedroom suite in a single Gig.  If your Gig won't fit in the back of the biggest pickup truck you've seen, then it's probably too big for a Driver and you should find another shipping method.

If you have a lot of heavy or oversized items that need to be transported, we recommend creating multiple Gigs that split large loads into more manageable loads. Not only will this be easier when it comes to loading your items into the Driver's vehicle, but it'll also attract more Drivers who have the ability to deliver the items for you.
