When delivering alcohol, please follow these standards:
- To deliver a Gig containing wine, beer or other alcoholic beverage, drivers must be 21 years old or older.
- At drop-off, you must request a valid ID from the recipient. Use the Roadie app to scan their ID. Remember: always deliver to the recipient listed in the app, never to anyone else, and never to anyone who is under 21.
- Before offering on a Gig containing any alcoholic beverage a Driver must be familiar with the signs of visible intoxication. It’s important to make sure you are not delivering alcohol to someone who is visibly intoxicated. If you do, you can be personally liable.
- For more information about the requirements to deliver alcohol, please read our Terms and Conditions.
What are considered valid forms of ID?
Examples of valid, government-issued IDs are Driver’s licenses, Passports, U.S. military IDs (active duty or retired military and their dependents, and DoD civilians), and Permanent Resident Cards.
What types of ID can the app scan?
The app can only scan driver’s licenses at this time. If the recipient presents a different form of valid ID, follow the Support prompts in the app. You’ll need to manually enter the recipient’s ID type, birth date and first and last name.
What if the app can’t scan their ID?
If you’re having issues scanning the recipient’s ID, follow the Support prompts in the app. You’ll need to manually enter the recipient’s ID type, birth date and first and last name.
The recipient doesn’t have an ID, or isn’t the person listed. Do I have to return the alcohol?
If you can’t confirm the recipient is 21 years old or older, or the person accepting the delivery is not the same recipient listed in the app, you’ll need to create a return Gig by following the Support prompts in the app.
