Health & safety guidance for drivers

The Roadie team is closely monitoring information about the coronavirus (COVID-19) provided by public health authorities.  For now, we suggest you follow these recommendations:

Take your temperature before you leave home
Before offering on a Gig, all drivers should take their temperatures at home. Even if you feel fine, if you have a fever (38 C or 100.4 F or above), you should not deliver until you’re completely sure you haven’t contracted the virus. Please be advised that some pickup locations may be taking extra precautions, like taking temperatures onsite, and if you refuse to have yours taken you may be turned away at pickup.

If you feel sick, stay at home
If you are feeling ill, stay home and keep away from others. If your symptoms get worse, call your doctor.

If you've been in contact with anyone who feels sick, stay at home
Many COVID-19 patients appear asymptomatic, but can still spread the virus. If you’ve been within six feet of anyone who feels sick, stay home until you can confirm you are well (14 days or until you’ve received a negative test result).

Wear a face covering
Wear a cloth face cover in public settings and when around people who don’t live in your household. Remember, face coverings are required to enter many places, including stores. Without one, you may be turned away at pickup.

Wash your hands frequently
Wash your hands with liquid soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol to disinfect your hands. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.

Cover your cough or sneeze
Use a tissue to cover your cough or sneeze and throw the tissue in the trash, then wash your hands. If you don't have a tissue within reach, cough or sneeze into your elbow.

Keep your vehicle clean
Disinfect your vehicle often using disinfectant wipes and sprays, focusing on surfaces that are touched frequently like car doors and seat belts.

We encourage all members of the Roadie community to visit the CDC's website for more information.

And always remember that you get to choose which Gigs you offer on, so if you feel uncomfortable with certain types of Gigs, just ignore them and wait to offer on Gigs that you're interested in. If you don't feel comfortable completing a Gig that you've been accepted for due to safety reasons, you can choose to cancel your offer with no penalty.
