Discrimination and sexual harassment policy

Discrimination, Harassment & Reporting 

Roadie is committed to providing a safe work environment free of all forms of discrimination and harassment..Roadie prohibits harassment, threats of violence, and hostile acts against any employee, contractor, partner, customer or other individuals using our platform.  If a complaint of harassment is brought to our attention, our team will investigate promptly and take appropriate action as defined by state and federal laws. 

 

What is Discrimination?

Discrimination is defined as the differential treatment of individuals based on race, color,  religion, sex, national origin, disability, age, or any other basis protected by federal, state, or local law.

 

What is Sexual Harassment?

Sexual harassment is unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature that is persistent or offensive and interferes with a Driver's job performance or creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive work environment. This can include unwelcome physical, verbal, or non-verbal conduct, ranging from sexually explicit derogatory statements, offensive jokes, gossip and slander, visual display of obscene materials of any type, bullying, and unwanted verbal or physical advances. 

Harassment is done with the main purpose of creating a hostile,  offensive, or intimidating work environment.  

Roadie has a zero-tolerance policy for any form of sexual harassment, which includes harassment based on age, race, color, national origin, gender (including pregnancy, childbirth, or medical condition related to pregnancy or childbirth), gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion, physical or mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, marital status, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law. All Roadie employees and contractors are required to work in a manner that prevents sexual harassment, whether in our workplace, at a customer’s place of business or at any time when using our platform. Violations of this policy will be taken seriously and can lead to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment, contractor status or eligibility to use our platform.

 

Reporting Harassment 

Any Driver who feels that he or she has been harassed or discriminated against, or who is aware of or has witnessed harassment or become aware of discrimination or harassment in violation of these polices, should make a formal complaint through safety@roadie.com.   

 

Retaliation Prohibited 

Unlawful retaliation can be any action that would keep a worker from coming forward to make or participate in an investigation of a harassment claim. Such retaliation is unlawful under federal and state laws. 

Roadie strictly prohibits any adverse action or retaliation against a Driver who reports discrimination or harassment, makes a formal complaint, or participates in an internal investigation or an investigation conducted by a state or federal agency or court. If you believe that you have experienced or witnessed retaliation, you should immediately make a formal complaint through safety@roadie.com. Any Driver who engages in retaliation will be subject to disciplinary action, including termination of employment, contractor status or eligibility to use our platform; in addition to as well as possible legal consequences.
