On some Gigs, you may be asked to verify your identity by scanning your ID. ID scanning helps prevent fraudulent users from using your identity on the platform and helps protect our community as a whole. Here are some things to know about the ID scanning process:
How it works
You may be prompted to scan your ID when you tap “Start Gig.” In this case, you’ll need to make sure you’re in a well-lit area, holding your ID still as you scan the back of your ID. The app will guide you and alert you if there were any issues capturing the photo. It’s especially important to make sure the barcode is clearly visible, without any glare. If you are in low light, it can be helpful to use the flash on your camera if you’re experiencing any issues.
Timing & safety
You’ll need to scan your ID before you officially start the Gig. We understand lots of drivers are on the go as they pick up Gigs, so remember: you have at least 15 minutes to tap “Start Gig” before you’re removed. Please wait until it’s safe to scan your ID.
Your safety is our top priority. As a rule, we discourage our drivers from using the app while driving, unless you can do so hands-free. Please be sure you’re parked before you attempt to scan your ID. And remember, we’re always here to help. If you have any issues scanning your ID, you can contact Support using the app.
If you need additional assistance, you can contact us via chat on the website.
